An exhibition week featuring works by young
artists and hands-on art activities for
children, young people, and families.

Kiez Funkeln is a project by KoduKu e.V.
in cooperation with GraefeKids, Drehpunkt,
Dütti-Treff, Street College, and Zukunftskieze.

Our goal is to promote community and
encounters between children, young people
and families in the neighbourhood through participatory art activities.
The project is funded by the BKJ‘s „Künste
öffnen Welten“ programme as part of
“Kultur macht stark”.
KoduKu e.V. is celebrating its 20th
anniversary this year, and Nachbarschaftshaus
Urbanstraße e.V. is celebrating its 70th.

GRAEFE ON FIRE – MANIFESTO

​

Our goal: We celebrate the art of young people—and create spaces where encounters, education, and participation become reality in the neighborhood.

Our reality: Cuts are hitting precisely those places where children and young people can grow: youth clubs, workshops, cultural offerings, family centers. This affects above all those who are already disadvantaged – migrant families, children in poverty, young people with invisible potential.

The impact: Instead of support, we are experiencing segregation. Instead of visibility:
racism, devaluation, gentrification.
But that is not the future we want.

Our response: Art. Encounter. Resistance.
We bring people together – regardless of their origin, neighborhood, or type of school. We make visible what often remains invisible:
creativity, community, and the right to a happy childhood – for everyone.

Our call: Come to the places that are the heart of our neighborhood: GraefeKids, Drehpunkt, KinderKunstWerkstatt, Street College,
Spielstraße.
Let‘s show what is possible when we don‘t cut back – but instead trust, create, and stick together.
Because our neighborhood is more.

And there are many of us.
